From La Cueva del Tesoro to Rincón de la Victoria is approximately another 4 kms. Rincón de la Victoria is a medium-sized coastal town. In the centre of the town, set back from the main road, is the CASA FUERTE BEZMILIANA. It is a small fort dating from 1766. King Charles III of Spain ordered its construction with the objective of staving off Dutch and English pirates that were prevalent at that time. A fine example of military architecture, it’s primary use today is as a cultural centre and exhibition space. Entrance is free. The few times I have been there, I have really enjoyed the art exhibits. So why not drop in for a bit of culture on your bike route?

The archealogical remains of Villa Antiopa
In December 2022, the Villa Antiopa Museographic Collection opened its doors. Don’t be fooled by the modern exterior of the building, which, inside is home to the remains of a whole architectural complex built at the end of the 3rd century AD and the beginning of the 4th century AD.

What can I see at Villa Antiopa?
Villa Antiopa is one of the best preserved maritime villas in Andalusia. You can see the foundations, rooms and ancient mosaics, as well as many interactive exhibits, films and archeological artifacts. The goal of the exhibition is to show the different areas that made up the complex, the way of life of its inhabitants and their economic activities.
The exhibit is very special indeed. It offers the opportunity to see, hear, touch, taste and smell history through the combination of traditional and technologically advanced museum resources. It is truly an impressive experience. We highly recommend it!

Where can I eat in Rincon de la Victoria?
Seriously, you will be spoilt for choice here. There are plenty of restaurants and bars along the beach front from the typical fish beach bars to Greek to Italian to Sushi Bars. But if you are looking for a completely different ambience, then check out the chiringuito Puente Romano. (Beach bar Roman Bridge). Now you probably have a romantic image in your head of this Roman Bridge beach bar, which I am about to quickly erase.

The beach bar/chiringuito Puente Romano
Yes, dear readers, this unique beach bar is in a dry river bed and under a bridge! It’s a really popular place and is always packed so get there early for your under-a-bridge dining experience.
We hope you’ll enjoy your cycling day out to Rincon de la Victoria. We certainly did!
